Many people think that when you’re young, that you don’t really know life yet. We were about eight years old, and I swear my life changed forever when I met E’Mon. My first impression was “I think she thinks she’s all that” because she didn’t want to play with Carelle & I, but after a good time we had become bestfriends, not only cousins. We watched each other grow in so many different ways. From our Teenage Millionaire phase to not caring what we wore, we just knew when we walked in somewhere we were the freshest, and we always had the swag.

We watched each other have boyfriends we once talked about, and also watched each other succeed by graduating high school and making moves in college that we talked about as well. I’ll always remember the good times we had, because we’ve NEVER had bad times. It’s all positive vibes when E’Mon is involved and everyone knows that. Her beautiful smile lives in my heart & her energy stays within me. We always said we would make it & live life the right way, and because of her I’m striving for better days. E’Mon will always be perfect in my eyes, because not only was she raised by an amazing father, and a wonderful family, but because she lived her life the perfect way. My idol, my fashionista, my cousin E’Mon.  You are my everything.  I’ve looked up to you since you are my cousin.  We told each other mostly everything.  You are more of a big sister to me than a cousin.  You are the eldest Coussey girl!  We are the three Coussey girls to Rule the World!  We all had plans to move to New York and take over New York City.  E’Mon the fashion designer, Najjiya is supposed to be the stylist and me the photographer.  You are music in my head. You taught me a lot about music and introduced me to artists that i wouldn’t have listened to on my own.  You picked me up when i was down about my photography.  You inspired me to do the best and the most with my talents.  I remember when I told you I didn’t want to do photography anymore and you went out and bought me a camera.  I was speechless.  I didn’t think that you would, but you did.  I love you for that and your legacy will live through the Coussey girls.  We will keep it going just for you E’Mo!....

My cousin, E’Mon Coussey was a blossoming flower.  Her petals reflected the spring.  She always kept a smile on her face even when times were rough.   She guided Yass and I on the right path by setting a great example of being focused on school and being passionate about her professions.  She is my inspiration...my hero.  I’m going to truly miss all the times we laughed, cried, joked, debated, and danced together because that showed who we were.  Not only were you my cousin but my best friend.  I love you so much cousin and I will be looking out for you when i need you....Your cousin - Najjiya

“An Angel”

E’Mo, you and I have known each other  since I was just a baby, which is why I question the reason why we just started becoming close a couple years ago.  You may not have heard me say it, but you probably knew that you are a cousin I looked up to.  You passed your creativity to Yaas, Jiya, and they are passing it on to me.  I enjoyed all the times that we rode around and you drove me to KFC at any time.  I am still waiting for someone to wake me from what feels like a dream.  I still can’t believe that your gone, but you’ll forever be in our eyes.  I guess God needed some new creativity in heaven and you were one of the best that we had.  You are an Angel above us all.  I’ll see you soon...

“Faith In A Goon”

E’Mon , she was one of my best friends , the one who never doubted anyone’s dream, the one who had my back when I was going through my phases, she had faith in me and what I was trying to accomplish. She trusted me enough to put me on her team, saying that if I work hard and put my heart into the things we’re doing, we can build something great and make our families proud. She put me on to a lot of new things, like the sushi spot on Fairfax, street wear, music, how to record and engineer music. If I didn’t meet E’Mon I would probably be in jail or out doing things that would make my parents wish they never had me, but when everybody doubted me for my dreams, E’Mon was the only one to embrace me. I will forever be indebt to her and her dream HonestLivin... AwayOfLyfe we still here ……

E’Mon, she was honestly one of the closest people to me in the shortest period of time. A friend beyond measure, her spirit and laugh made me feel as if I had a friend forever, and always could count on her to be there .The friendship we shared was abnormal, because nobody thought a guy and a girl could be such close friends, but  they were all great ones that taught me a lot about life. E'Mon had one of the greatest smiles.  It could brighten up my day.  She always wanted to please everyone around her especially her family.  She was funny, and we could look at each other smile, frown, laugh even give each other a blank expression and know exactly what was going on in each others mind.  We were inseparable, and always called each other to tell each other one's latest news.  Whenever I was down, E'Mon was always there to make me feel better.  When I was at a loss for encouragement, she would uplift me with her positive spirit and kind words.  She was always there for me as she was for everyone else.  E'Mon had big dreams and was on her way to great success.  We dreamed together and planned for the near future together.   We talked about getting jobs, make money, buy our dream cars, getting an apartment or house together.

E'Mon was an independent person.  She hardly ever asked for anything unless she really needed something.  I admire her for what she was, a positive thinker and always came up with the most creative solutions.  E'Mon would never judge anyone.  We always talked about our inner most feelings about life and our current surroundings.  We had a fulfilling friendship.  With her I was complete.

I remember when I first met her, I called her "Fav" because she was my favorite person to be around.  She lived a meaningful life and had a great personality.  I'm joyful to have been able to spend so much time with such a great person.  Having her as a friend was a blessing.  We were a team, and we will continue to be a team.  She will never leave my memory.  She was one of the GREATEST FRIENDS.
