E’Mon Ashley Simone Coussey passed away on April 12, 2011 in Inglewood, California at the tender age of 19. She was in her second year at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (F.I.D.M) in Los Angeles, CA, and had recently changed her major to pursue a career in graphic and web design to add to her skill set of music production, cinematography and apparel merchandising. She was most known for her ambition, her independence, her creativity, her style, and her kindred nature.

Independent, honest and possessing a strong and idealstic personality, E’Mon sought the truth above all things. Being a future thinker and with the absence of “no” in her vocabulary , she often had solitary time for herself. Having the ability to view both sides of an argument and tolerant of others points of views, she was a philanthropist by nature and lived a meaningful life, a life of pure love and real love. Simply creative and amazing in every aspect of the meaning, she was such a free spirit and was a constant reminder of how to just enjoy life. She was delightful and enlightening. A strong young woman who never complained even through the hardest points of her young life. She was not only a student, but a designer, a professional blogger, a rapper, a writer, an artist, a model, a photographer, a dancer and an entrepenuer before her time. She was a founder, a visionary, a music guru in the making, a voice for the underdog. Her independence and ideology were clearly obvious with her passion for developing, producing and marketing great talented underground indie - artistes that were drawn to her.

One vision of hers was “AWAYOFLYFE”. A virtual hallway that exists because it has the potential to open so many doors while at the same time just being a simple representation of our lives, or just the way we've perceived them. It displays whatever caught her fancy while in the process giving undiscovered talent an opportunity to have their works canvassed. It included anyone who could relate to this way of life and who could contribute to it, as well as it  just allowed people to become a witness to the movement. What started off as just a journal for fashion & creativity and E'Mon’s desire to promote her clothing line “HONEST LIVIN”, became a machine for this propaganda crafted to help and forerun the movement she envisioned for “A WAY OF LYFE”.

Jesus said unto her, “I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this.” St. John 11:25-26.

E’Mon was a girl on a mission and was developing into a young woman of purpose. Her determination for acquiring a prosperous and meaningful life began after graduating from Warner Elementary School, but her thirst for knowledge and success did not end there. She had a sincere concern for her environment and surroundings and was an advocate for “Heal The Bay”.

E’Mon’s ambitions did not inhibit her from maintaining a relationship with her family and close friends. She showed unconditional love and no task was too big or complicated for E’Mon to handle. E’Mon was truly a gift from GOD to the “WORLD”. She constantly gave of herself tirelessly and effortlessly, always putting others before her. She leaves us to celebrate and cherish her loving memories, and to continue her legacy and the empire she created for her siblings, her cousins, her besty,  her peers and her team of talented artistes. E’Mon will unquestionably be missed.
